Local foster care agencies are contracted with Erie County to license and certify foster families. There are five agencies to choose from based on your family's needs and desires. Please contact any of the agencies below to learn more about becoming a foster parent!

BAIR FOUNDATION

The Bair Foundation has been serving children and families since 1967 with a commitment to building strong children, strong families, and strong communities through a Christ-centered approach that treats the mind, body, and spirit of those they serve. Bair staff supports their foster families through the certification process and after placements are made. Staff is available 24 hours a day. Families are well-trained to ensure their success as they foster children and teens. Bair believes that foster parents are the agents of change and wants them to feel loved, appreciated, and valued.

FAMILY SERVICES

Family Services of Northwest PA is a licensed adoption and foster care agency with a strong commitment to strengthening families and transforming lives. We know that foster families come in all shapes and sizes, and we do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation, or age. FAMILIES UNITED NETWORK

Families United Network, Inc. is a private, nonprofit agency that works closely with over 50 county children and youth agencies throughout Pennsylvania. Our programs currently support over 440 foster families in Pennsylvania. These families are screened, approved, and trained by Families United Network, Inc. to provide for the needs of children who have suffered neglect, loss, and abuse. Our ever-expanding base of foster homes receive ongoing support, training, and financial assistance.

BETHESDA LUTHERAN SERVICES

Bethesda Lutheran Services believes that foster parents are people who believe that children are worthy of their best efforts every day. Bethesda’s foster care program provides temporary emergency foster home placements to children and teens in need. Bethesda offers high-quality training to prepare you and ensure you feel supported so that you can focus on the young life you are working to change. When you become a licensed foster home with Bethesda, you become part of the Bethesda family. As you welcome foster children into your family, you will be supported by your Bethesda family.

KEYSTONE ADOLESCENT CENTER

Keystone provides a community-based family service delivery system that assists children, youth, and their families. Keystone’s goal is to identify foster families that are able to provide a safe, stable, and welcoming environment to children from the ages of birth to 18 years of age who are unable to be at home due to various circumstances, some of which are beyond their control. Keystone foster families are supported with training and 24-hour access to a case manager.
